Please find below information regarding the following take out locations:  South Rim, Diamond Creek and Pearce Ferry

South Rim Information:

When parking your vehicle at Lee's Ferry...please fill your vehicle with fuel.  If you have your vehicle full of gas when we pick it up, we will not need to fuel vehicle en-route to the South Rim.
The vehicle parking location used at the South Rim is parking lot D/E or the Bright Angel Trailhead parking area.  If you want your vehicle parked elsewhere, then please let us know this on your transportation form or by calling us.
When we shuttle your vehicle, it may be shuttled on the day of your take out.  This is all part of the scheduling.  We try to coordinate trips that are putting in and taking out during this time frame.  The vehicle will be there anywhere from 12 noon to 3 pm... if the vehicle is not there when you arrive please be patient, it is on it's way.  Most of the time though we are able to shuttle the vehicle before your take out date.
For those of you who want vehicles shuttled from the South Rim to Peach Springs, your vehicles may be left at the South Rim until a few days before your take out at Diamond Creek.  This is due to the request of the managment of the Hualapai Lodge.  They will only allow you to leave your vehicle in their parking lot for only 3-4 days.

Diamond Creek take out information:

The Diamond Creek take out is a small dirt take out and on any given day, especially during the summer season, there can be crowds of people who are taking out either on private trips or commercial trips, along with many large trucks, busses, etc., that are blocking the ramp area.  The Hualapai operations are also going on from anywhere between the hours of 7am to 10am. The Hualapai do ask that you limit your activities at the Diamond Creek ramp until after their operations end around 10am.

Diamond Creek is not the most convenient place to take out.  Along with the crowds, increasing Indian fees, rough roads, flash flooding, etc., Pearce Ferry, in my opinion, is the place to take out.

Pearce Ferry take out information:

For those of you who want to experience the rest of the canyon, then Pearce Ferry is the place to take out.  The lower canyon offers much to see - if you have not done it, then you are missing out on the last stretch of the lower gorge - and it is worth seeing!!

There are concerns, for some groups, that there is not enough time to take out at Pearce Ferry.  In some cases it may be true, but most of the time it can be done in an extra day.  The river current runs well past the new Pearce Ferry take out.  No flat water to row across.
This certainly is the much cheaper route, as you are not having to pay the Indian fees for taking out at Diamond Creek...which can range upwards of $1000 or more for a group.

When you take out at Pearce Ferry or use our Diamond Creek Package, you are dealing with only one party for your shuttle.  From the beginning to the end, River Runner's Shuttle Service will be the only party shuttling your vehicle.

I hope you find this information helpful when deciding on where your trip will be taking out.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Thank you.

*Additional information and services:

River Runner's Shuttle Service offers the following services to our customers:

We deliver vehicles down to Diamond Creek.  The Hualapai tribe does not allow vehicles to be parked at Diamond Creek overnight.  We have a package deal we call a Diamond Creek package.  The package works as follows.  River Runnners Shuttle Service will pick up your vehicles at Lees Ferry, drive them to the Meadview storage, then on the day of your take out, our drivers will deliver the vehicles to you at Diamond Creek.  The drivers would then need to ride out of Diamond Creek with your group back to Peach Springs.  We will have transportation waiting to pick them up at Peach Springs.
The total cost of this service is $325 per vehicle.  This fee includes storage at Meadview until the day of your take out at Diamond Creek.
Please note that you will need to pay the indian fees to have your vehicle/s driven down to Diamond Creek. This also includes the driver of each vehicle.
We do not include these fee's in our pricing, the Hualapai Tribe charges these fee's to you for use of the Diamond Creek road.

We can deliver your car to Peach Springs for the prices listed on the pricing page.  The only option for parking  your vehicle in Peach Springs is at the Hualapai Lodge.  They do however, request vehicles only be left there for 3-4 nights.  We can deliver the car to the lodge and park it out in the back lot.  You would then need to find transportation out of Diamond Creek to the lodge in Peach Springs to pick up your vehicle.

Important information for trailer owners:

Please note, if you are coming from a state that does not require trailers to be registered/plated, you will need to provide documentation of this from your local/state motor vehicle department.  You will need to leave a copy of this form in your vehicle for our drivers to have in case they are stopped by a highway patrolmen or sheriff.  If you fail to have this documentation, you are subject to a fine or warning.  Though this is not often the case, we have been told by the sheriff's department that if no documentation is provided, you can be ticketed.  PLEASE provide this information for those of you who come from a state that does not require trailers to be registered/plated.  Thank you.
